Credit unions will be receiving the 4th quarter edition of Signal magazine this week in the mail. A digital copy is available in the
LSCU Publications area of the website right now. The 4th quarter edition is titled, "Operating in the New Norm: through Unity and Cooperation." The cover story focuses on how the credit union business model of old has been replaced with a new norm of corporate assessments, a heavy regulatory environment and a tough economy. Credit unions tell the League how they survived the economic downturn and how they are shifting their business model. The League also plays a part in this new norm by working with CUNA to ease the regulatory burden and work with lawmakers to help them understand the role of credit unions in the economy.
Signal also focuses heavily on advocacy with a Q&A with CUNA SVP of Political Affairs Richard Gose and NCUA Region III Director Herb Yolles. The magazine dedicates almost three pages to some of the fresh faces in Alabama and Florida politics. The LSCU Statewide Image campaign is highlighted, along with the LSCU foundations.
Credit unions will want to keep this edition handy throughout the year as the full LSCU Education calendar for 2011 is laid out over three pages. If your credit union would like an extra copy of Signal, contact LSCU VP, Communications and Marketing
Mike Bridges at 866.231.0545 ext. 1022.
