AC&E concludes with Morning Joe and Dinner/Show

The 2011 LSCU Annual Convention and Exposition (AC&E) wrapped up June 18 with the General Closing session, educational sessions and the Dinner/Show. The General Closing session featured MSNBC Morning Joe anchor Joe Scarborough delivering the keynote address. He talked about his run in politics and how the first house he campaigned at was split on him as a candidate. It was his parents house. He also painted a picture of the climate in Washington D.C. and what to expect in 2012.

The LSCU awards were presented with the late Bill Marquardt of City County CU of Ft. Lauderdale being awarded the Distinguished Service Award. His picture will also hang in the CU House in Washington D.C. Legacy Community FCU CEO Joe McGee was awarded the Professional of the Year, Pen Air FCU Chairman Maurice Johnson received the Volunteer of the Year award. Three credit unions received the Credit Union of the Year award: Naheola CU, Alabama CU and CFE FCU.

After the remaining six educational sessions and some free time, credit unions gathered for the Dinner/Show to end the AC&E. Vox Audio provided the entertainment with a unique show written especially for credit unions and the AC&E.

A wrap-up video of the conference will be available soon.
