Hurricane season opened on June 1 and forecasters are warning of another active year. The NCUA recently communicated to credit unions to make sure they had a disaster plan that was updated. The NCUA encourages credit unions to have basic steps in place in case a disaster strikes.
Those steps include:
Ensure a constant state of readiness for your credit union
Communicate disaster preparedness before, during, and after the disaster
Ensure back ups are available for people, communications, data, and electricity
Make sure your disaster plan is a "living document"
