CANCELLED: CFPB coming to Tampa for field hearing on reverse mortgages, informal session for CEOs

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) will be in Tampa for a field hearing on reverse mortgages at the Tampa Convention Center Ballroom, Wednesday, June 27, at 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Also, the CFPB will be holding an informal roundtable session for area credit union CEOs at 3 p.m.
The field hearing will include testimony from consumer and civil rights groups, industry representatives, and members of the public to provide the CFPB with insight into the reverse mortgage market. CFPB Director Richard Cordray will also provide remarks.
In addition, the CFPB would like to invite area credit union CEO's to an informal roundtable-type session for a chance to hear from the CEO's about their thoughts, questions, and concerns regarding the Bureau. The session will also be held at the Tampa Convention Center at 3 p.m. This session would be of special interest to military-affiliated credit unions in regards to the CFPB along with NCUA and other financial regulators issuing new guidance affecting mortgage lending to the military.
