CUAid activated for Hurrican Sandy

For those credit unions that would like to donate money to help credit unions in the path of Hurricane Sandy, the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) has activated CUAid. The destruction from the hurricane will be felt for many months and in some cases years to come. CUAid is a way for credit unions to help their own.

“To help alleviate the devastating effects of this disaster, we encourage credit union leaders all across the country to use as a channel to collect donations from their employees, volunteers, and members,” said NCUF Executive Director Bucky Sebastian. “Everyone who supports CUAid is helping affected credit union people directly with critical needs, longer-term recovery needs, operational needs, and assisting credit union members.”

In 2011, following destructive tornadoes across Alabama, CUAid was activated and credit unions from across the country donated to help those in need in Alabama. If you have any questions about CUAid, contact Southeastern Credit Union Foundation Director Leonard Parkhurst. Visit the NCUF's website for more information on CUAid.
