Credit Unions Get Good Media Coverage

The national media continues to write and air positive stories about credit unions. On Friday Jan. 8, ABC News ran a story letting consumers know the best way to avoid bank fees, switch to a credit union. This follows on the footsteps of positive stories airing on the Today Show and the CBS Early Show. You can see the ABC News story by clicking here.

Suze Orman is a frequent guest on talk shows and this week she was a guest on the Campbell Brown show on CNN. Orman talked about banks and the possible taxation on those that took bailout money. When it came to credit cards, she told consumers to find a credit union because they had better rates. You can see her CNN segment by clicking here.

On the CBS Moneywatch blog, a couple is profiled that found a better mortgage refinancing rate at a credit union. They had been turned away by their bank. You can read the story by clicking here.
