Credit union media blitz continues

Open any paper in America and you will see a story about credit unions and consumers switching from the larger for-profit institutions. Credit unions in Alabama and Florida are seeing stories weekly and in some cases daily. The LSCU is capturing as many of these stories as it can and placing them in the LSCU Press Room. The latest stories include the local NBC News outlet profiling Tropical Financial Credit Union's debit card program where members are paid $5 per month based on the number of transactions they incur each month.

The LSCU Press Room is also capturing the national stories that are running in the Wall Street Journal, ABC News, CNBC, Fox Business Channel and the USA Today. Most of the national coverage over the past week has been the Bank Transfer Numbers CUNA released that showed 40,000 new members were added by credit unions nationwide on Nov. 5.
