Serving on the CUNA board is an opportunity for a credit union executive to have a say in the national credit union movement and help shape the industry. For 2013, CUNA is seeking nominations for eight positions on the CUNA board of directors. Among the eight openings is floridacentral CU CEO Laida Garcia's District 3 Class B seat. She will not seek re-election.
District 3 encompasses nine states in the southeast including Alabama and Florida. The Class B designation means the nominee's credit union must have between 23,000 and 85,999 members.
