Huntsville Times publishes letter to the editor on interchange

With the possibility that the interchange issue currently being discussed in Congress could have a detrimental impact on credit union members, North Alabama Educators Credit Union submitted a letter to the editor to its local paper. The Huntsville Times published the letter titled, "Costly Amendment." North Alabama Educators President Greg Olmsted pointed out to readers that the interchange amendment passed in the Senate version of regulatory reform would most likely only cover a small part of the cost of providing those services. The letter reads that credit union members could pay an extra fee to be able to use a debit card. Readers were urged to let their lawmakers know that this amendment should be stripped from the current legislation.
