Gigi Hyland is staying in the credit union business. The former NCUA board member has been hired by the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) as its next executive director. Hyland will succeed Bucky Sebastian who stepped down in June. She will begin her duties in August.
Hyland served on the NCUA board from 2005 to 2012. She actually stayed a little longer than her term. Before joining the NCUA, she worked for Empire Corporate FCU and CUNA.
"Gigi brings a wealth of credit union experience and an understanding of the non-profit sector that will serve the Foundation well," NCUF Chairman Laida Garcia, president/CEO of the $397 million floridacentral Credit Union in Tampa, told the CU Times.
