Members of the U.S. House received a new letter from Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D-PA) and Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA) urging support for
H.R. 3380, the Promoting Lending to America's Small Businesses Act. The letter points out that 18 business groups support the legislation. Among the businesses throwing their support behind H.R. 3380 is the National Association of Realtors, National Farmer's Union and the National Association for the Self-Employed. Reps. Kanjorski and Royce write that 30 new co-sponsors signed on to the legislation in the past week, including Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) and Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL). The letter states that "credit unions are an important part of the financial services industry" and "that it makes economic and fiscal sense to enhance credit unions ability to lend to their business-owning members."
