LSCU AC&E welcomes guests with Annual Business Meeting and Educational Sessions

The second day of the LSCU Annual Convention and Exposition (AC&E) kicked off with the Annual Business Meeting. LSCU Chairman Joe McGee presided over the meeting and gave his remarks. LSCU President/CEO Patrick La Pine played on the convention them of "Defining your Future" by asking credit unions to define their future through collaboration. He pointed out how credit unions can do more with advocacy in a collective effort than any other in the financial industry. La Pine also went over many of the League initiatives including debuting the Statewide Image Campaign TV ad.
A few of the League's system partners spoke. NCUA General Counsel Bob Fenner gave an overview of the NCUA's efforts with the corporate stabilization initiatives. CUNA Mutual Group Executive Vice President/COO Bob Trunzo updated attendees on how CMG is working with credit unions and that the economy is not adversely affecting CMG. National Credit Union Foundation Executive Director Bucky Sebastian talked about how the NCUF is working with

credit unions in times of disaster but also in good times. NCUF's Real Solutions is bringing forth initiatives that are working. The NCUF is also making a renewed effort to teach financial literacy.
Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) stopped by the AC&E for a Governmental Affairs luncheon. He spoke about the climate in Washington D.C. and looked ahead to 2012.
