LSCU Credit Unions begin Hill visits

The League of Southeastern Credit Unions' delegation hit Capitol Hill Tuesday to begin their Hill visits. About 15 credit union officials met with the ranking Republican on the House Financial Services Committee, Rep. Spencer Bachus, for about a half hour. The session included very good dialogue on several issues. Bachus also asked each person in the room about their credit union and what he could do to help their business. About two hours later, many of the same credit union officials met with the ranking Republican on the Banking Committee, Sen. Richard Shelby. Senator Shelby spent some time going over the issues and talking to the delegation.

Wednesday, more than 4,000 credit union folks will head to the Hill for the major CUNA lobbying day. The LSCU contingent will meet with Alabama and Florida members of Congress and their Senators. Also on Wednesday, Rep. Bachus will speak to the general session of the CUNA GAC. You can get up-to-the-minute updates from the LSCU by following us on Twitter.
