LSCU Development Conference focuses on credit unions
10/07/2010 03:56 pm
When the LSCU began putting together the 2010 Development Conference, the overwhelming goal was to offer a conference where the main focus is the credit union. That seems obvious, but there are many conferences that have that as a goal, but fall short. Credit unions will notice the difference at the Development Conference at Grand Hotel Marriott Resort in Point Clear, AL. The setting is intimate with a casual atmosphere that provides great opportunities to network and spend time in the exhibit hall. The speakers will leave attendees with plenty to think about as they head back to their respective credit unions. LSCU President/CEO Patrick La Pine will outline the League priorities and initiatives for 2011. He will also discuss the 2011 Statewide Image Campaign for credit unions in Alabama and Florida. Demographer Ken Gronbach is a dynamic speaker that will challenge the way credit unions look at their future vision. He tracks generational trends and says the U.S. is the only country in the world repopulating its workforce. Author Richard Hadden will speak on the value of leadership and how it directly affects the performance of a credit union.
Also featured during the Nov. 3-5 Development Conference are education sessions on troubled debt restructuring (TDRs), important HR issues for 2011, regulatory hotpockets, discover the power of ePurchasing, understanding the role of the voluntary board and a brand camp for small asset sized credit unions, among others. The LSCU Leadership Councils will meet Wednesday Nov. 3 from 1-4pm. The exhibit hall will be open for nearly five hours. Attendees can also relax during the LEVERAGE golf outing or the Sunrise Sailboat tour on Nov. 3. Guests have an opportunity to take part in the Fairhope historic tour, shopping and lunch. As you can see, there is a little bit of everything for everyone.
