The LSCU recently presented the
Children’s Miracle Network with a check that will be used to help fund medical care, research, and education. Each donation helps to save and improve the lives of 17 million children each year.
During the LSCU’s AC&E in Orlando in June, convention attendees helped raise money for the LSCU Political Action Committee while helping CMN. Through the generosity of LSCU members, staff, sponsors and vendors who attended the fundraising events, $27,100 was raised. A total of $18,600 was raised during the LSCU’s first annual golf tournament with an additional $8,500 raised through the silent auctions LSCU PAC charity match fundraiser.
LSCU Service Corporation, LEVERAGE, matched each donation for the PAC fund which doubled the amount of funds raised during the silent auction. One hundred percent of the matching funds benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.
“I am proud of how generous our members, employees, vendors, and sponsors are when it comes to supporting the Children’s Miracle Network," said Patrick La Pine, president/CEO of LSCU. "The charity match was a great way to raise funds for our PAC while supporting a charitable organization that is dear to the hearts of many of us in the credit union movement. Giving back to our communities clearly remains a top priority for our member credit unions even during the many challenges facing our economy.”
