Wednesday's edition of the
Miami Herald features
LSCU & Affiliates President/CEO Patrick La Pine's op-ed on Florida's legislative hits and misses for financial institutions.
In the op-ed La Pine begins by covering significant pieces of successful legislation that are considered big wins for Florida's financial community and consumers, such as
SB 1012, updates to Florida's data breach notification statutes, and the Keeping Identities Safe Act (KIDS Act). La Pine then addresses a missed opportunity of this year's Florida session, legislation that would have required high school students to take a course on financial literacy in order to qualify for graduation.
