LSCU & Affiliates annual fall Hike the Hill grassroots lobbying trip to Washington, D.C. is Sept. 16-17. It is important that all credit unions send a representative. The tentative agenda includes a trip to the
NCUA's offices for a 75-minute meeting. There will also be a reception and then a full day of Hill meetings.
With tax reform still on the table, increasing regulatory pressures, and other important pieces of legislation percolating, we need credit union grassroots advocates to join the League on the Hill to bring the credit union message to our lawmakers. The bankers continue to aggressively mount a campaign to encourage credit union taxation. Credit unions need to show up in full force to show Congress that we are united in our efforts. Additionally, with the NCUA's risk-based capital proposal yet to be finalized, it is important that a large number of credit unions let the NCUA know just how damaging the rule in its current form may be during our meeting.
