Petree receives honor at CUNA GAC

Sunday is normally a day that credit unions travel into Washington for the CUNA GAC. However, Sunday morning Credit Union House inducted its newest Hall of Leaders. This year's class included Pen Air FCU's, based in Pensacola, longtime employee and director Betty Petree. This past June she was named the LSCU & Affiliates Distinguished Service Award winner. The award comes with a nomination to the Credit Union Hall of Leaders. Betty was on hand for the ceremony. LSCU & Affiliates President/CEO, and Credit Union House board member, Patrick La Pine introduced Petree. She told the crowd that she was shocked in June and said she loves Pen Air and the credit union movement.

The LSCU & Affiliates held a Welcome Reception Sunday night. With more than 150 attendees from Alabama and Florida, the reception was packed for 90 minutes. Attendees mingled and many rekindled past friendships. They also talked about the issues before credit unions this week.

On Monday, the CUNA GAC begins with a full day on the agenda. The LSCU & Affiliates is sending back a daily video from the GAC. You can watch it below. Check out more pictures on the League's Facebook page and follow the GAC on the League's Twitter account.
