Public Deposits bill is postponed in Florida

In a procedural move to delay a vote on the public deposits bill, HB 251 Public Depositories, Rep. Bill Hager (R-Boca Raton), the bill's sponsor, asked that it be temporarily postponed. The move ensures that the bill is still alive for consideration, which would not have been the case had it not received a favorable vote in the committee.

There is plenty of work to be done to pass this important piece of legislation. The LSCU Governmental Affairs team continues to meet with leadership to explore all avenues to get the bill passed. The process of getting a bill passed is extremely fluid and can change quickly. Often times it can change minute to minute.
