Tropical Financial Credit Union CEO Rich Helber submitted an editorial to the Sun Sentinel in South Florida. The editorial pointed out how Congress could raise $10 billion in new small business loans by simply raising the credit union member business lending cap. Helber writes that banks would still hold 90-percent of the loans, if the cap were raised. Credit unions are simply asking for another five percent of the pie. The need it there for small businesses.
