Weekly Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday (8:30am-5:00pm) weekly; additional hours on evenings and Saturdays as needed for special events as needed.
An instrumental role in leveraging Jax Federal Credit Union to meet its strategic membership and sales goals consistent with its mission in the markets served. This position is responsible to develop and maintain an effective Business Development program designed to increase credit union membership, loan growth, and overall market presence. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders in the Marketing, Retail Branch Operations and Sales Team.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
30% - Business Development: Increases new membership through business development campaigns and programs. Represents the Credit Union at various functions to increase new member relationships. Participates in events, programs, and sponsored activities such as New Hire Orientation, Recognition Events, and Health & Benefits Fairs at partner companies. Promotes sponsored programs that offer convenience for employers/employees such as the "Bank at Work" service for members.
30% - Merchant & Referral Program: Actively promote the Credit Union's mortgage and home improvement products and services to local area merchants and realtors. Increase new merchant lending business relationships through personal contact and Business Development marketing initiatives. Build relationships with realtors to promote JAXFCU mortgage products.
20% - Community Involvement: Work closely and collaboratively with members of the Branch Management team to promote the Credit Union in the communities we serve. Represents the Credit Union in various civic and community associations and functions to enhance image and develop new business.
10% - Sales/Membership Growth: Establishes and maintain a sales database for leads. Works closely with the Retail Branch Operations associates to participate in the various sales initiatives, sponsored events, and call programs. Maintains high product knowledge, learning new selling techniques, new products and market trends. Documents, calls and prepares weekly sales production reports to Chief Marketing Officer.
5% - Member Service Delivery: Work closely as a liaison between the prospective member and the Branch Representatives to transition the prospective member to his/her home branch office. Arranges for meeting between members or prospective members with Branch associates to address prospective needs.
5% - Other Duties: Assists in other duties as assigned, including direct mail, advertising, proofreading, and related projects as needed. Maintain adequate supply of logo/promotional products.
GROWTH/SALES (60%): Each performance period, meet or exceed the individual production goals established for membership growth and Merchant referrals and loan growth as follows:
1. Increase new members by 1% overall.
2. Establish and deliver new Merchant Lending business accounts coupled with increased loan volume as established in the annual goals and balanced scorecard metrics of 9.30%
SERVICE (20%): Function as a liaison for new members and the designated branch personnel to insure that the "service requested" is delivered in an accurate, professional, and a timely manner.
TEAMWORK AND COLLABORATION (15%): Provide friendly, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with team members, internal/external contacts and associates.
TRAINING (5%): Become familiar with JAXFCU products and services offered. Continually stay abreast of the array of products and services available for membership. Demonstrate an interest in self development and continuous learning. Complete Individual Annual Learning Plan by designated dates to include any assigned training hours and required classes. Meet to exceed scores attained in assigned learning programs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift materials/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Two years to five years of similar or related Business Development role with prior outside Sales/Marketing experience in the credit union, banking or financial services industry.
A Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related Marketing field.
Strong communication, sales, and public relations skills required. A proven track record of professional success. Good research skills and possess a basic understanding of financial institutions products and services.
Strong familiarity and proficiencies with social media (Linked In, Facebook) sites.
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
Must be able to work different schedules (days, evenings, weekends) as events and sponsored activities require. Requires travel in the local community throughout the work week which requires a valid Driver's License. Use of the Credit Union's company vehicle is available according to schedule.
Must have excellent business etiquette and strong communication skills (oral and written).
