The 2013 LSCU Alabama State Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) offers credit unions an opportunity to go deeper into the issues facing credit unions while also building relationships with state lawmakers.
The State GAC immerses credit unions in federal issues, as well as what's going on in Montgomery. CUNA VP of Legislative Affairs, Sam Whitfield, Jr., will update attendees on credit union issues in Washington, D.C. and the 113th Congress. Whitfield manages CUNA's team of congressional advocates and their efforts to execute strategies on Capitol Hill.
The GAC will also look at regulatory and legislative priorities, the state legislative outlook, and an in-depth discussion on PAC fundraising and grassroots advocacy. There will be a lawmaker reception on April 9. This is a great opportunity to build relationships with your lawmakers in a relaxed atmosphere before heading to the state capitol the next day for lawmaker office visits.
