 A Mindset for Significance vs Success:  In this interactive workshop you will learn tools and techniques that can be used in your daily business and personal life to reframe problems, generate more effective solutions and improve your performance (and that of those around you).  Lara will not only share her proven, and often contrarian techniques but she will help you apply them immediately.

About the Speaker:
Lara O’Connor Hodgson is a founder of NOW Corp and has served as its President and CEO since its inception.

Lara has launched product and service businesses, raised capital, and served in executive management roles with Nourish (a patented consumer product for children), Insomnia Consulting LLC (an infrastructure development company), Dewberry Capital Corporation, DCH (a $400M private equity firm in which she was a founding principal), Dunk (a performance footwear and apparel brand), and iXL, an Internet development company. Lara has extensive experience in brand development, corporate strategy, business development, marketing, and operations, Lara has worked with companies such as Nike, Coca-Cola, The Home Depot, Keds, and others.

Lara received an MBA from The Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering with highest honors from Georgia Tech where she was a scholarship member of the Varsity Track team, was named one of the top 20 students in the U.S. by USA Today, and was selected to study in Japan with the U.S. Department of Defense.  Lara also served as the Ambassador to Lebanon for the 1996 Olympic Games.

Lara serves as an appointee of the Governor to the board of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority and the Regional Transit Committee (she previously served as an appointee of the Governor on the Transit Planning Board and the Transit Implementation Board), is an adjunct lecturer in finance at Georgia Tech’s graduate school of Management, and serves as a founding Board member of Atlanta Heights Charter School. Lara has also served on the Boards of Flag Bank, Society of International Business Fellows, Central Atlanta Progress, and Georgia Tech’s Alexander Tharpe Fund.

Lara is a member of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2004 and the Leadership Georgia Class of 2005. She was recently honored by the Georgia Tech Athletic Association with the Total Person Alumnus Award and by the Georgia Tech Women in Engineering as the Alumnus of the Year. Lara is a member of the Georgia Tech Young Alumnus Hall of Fame and is an internationally recognized speaker on innovation and creativity.
