Gold Coast Federal Credit Union
Supports the credit union’s local area and wide area network hardware and software to ensure that back
end functions, systems, PCs, servers, and all peripheral products are operational to ensure maximum
availability to staff and membership.
Consults with the A VP of Information Systems to determine priorities of new projects, discuss system
capacity and equipment acquisitions. Evaluates current LAN/WAN and makes recommendations
regarding new technology and enhancements. Coordinates the acquisition, licensing and implementation
of new network hardware, software and upgrades. Technology includes knowledge of Windows client
and server software, Exchange, VMware, and the credit union’s core processing software.
Maintains complete and accurate network documentation pertaining to network layout, software
utilization, licensing and warranties for software, hardware, and peripherals.
Maintains and secures library of network software and documentation.
Assists network vendors and maintenance personnel in resolution of network hardware and software
problems as well as assists staff to diagnose and solve computer hardware and software problems.
Responds to user problems on PCs to include software applications, systems integration, or individual
hardware problems. Researches and diagnoses IT problems within the entire infrastructure; troubleshoot,
and provide solutions. Test solutions to ensure a correct solution.
Provides and runs backup procedures that maintain integrity and security of the credit union’s technology
infrastructure. Verifies the contents of, and ensures that all critical data is backed up and stored off-site
for disaster recovery purposes. Assists in disaster recovery planning and testing.
Monitors information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and
Ensures compliance with the disaster recovery plans, computer security and loss prevention plans,
antivirus and firewall protections, etc.
Associate’s degree (A.A.) from two-year College or university; MCSE; VMware; Exchange
Microsoft MCSA and/or Microsoft MCSE, VMware is desired.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing and managing network related hardware including firewalls, core switches, and IP fax services.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with hardware clustering and virtualization utilizing VMWare.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Server hardware and software installation and maintenance within an enterprise environment (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Microsoft Exchange 2010 or higher within an enterprise environment.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience maintaining Enterprise storage systems utilizing protocols such as CIFS, NFS and ISCSI.
Desired requirements include:
Strong experience with Tape Libraries and Tape Drives in both SCSI and SAN environments with enterprise experience utilizing Backup software such as Symantec Backup Exec and Veeam.
Expert knowledge of server and network hardware, software, their configurations and industry best practices for security.
Experience working with VOIP technology provided by a managed network provider.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Working knowledge of computer operating systems including desktops, servers, laptops.
Working knowledge of hardware clustering and virtualization technology.
Understanding of common backup and restore procedures.
Ability to plan and implement projects with timelines and schedules.
Ability to troubleshoot methodologies and solve issues to meeting deadlines.
Ability to effectively communicate technical information and to effectively write technical documentation.
