Whether you are a new Supervisory Committee or Board Member; or you are a ‘seasoned’ volunteer; attendance at this event will most definitely enrich your contributions to your credit union. NCUA Update- provided by Christa O’Harrow, NCUA Regional Supervisory Examiner - Learn about the current administration priorities and hot button issues.

Top Ten Issues Facing Credit Unions and the Role of the Supervisory Committee- presented by Robin Hoag, CPA, CMC and senior director of the Financial Institutions Group at Doeren Mayhew.

The Supervisory Committee- I’m on it, Now what? – instructed by the CU/ACE Team - This session will cover the role of the Supervisory Committee, Powers and Responsibilities of the Supervisory Committee, Construction of a Compliance/ Duties Calendar, Discussion of Internal Controls and some example of easy audit techniques/ procedures for the active Supervisory Committee.

Emerging Fraud Risks– presented by CUNA Mutual Group - With new technologies, regulatory changes and competitive pressures, new schemes are evolving and creating new challenges. Prepare you and your credit union staff to be successful in the new fraud landscape.

Bank Secrecy Act Compliance for Volunteers- instructed by the CU/ACE Team - BSA programs and goals, the Official’s Role in Compliance, Applicable NCUA Rules and Regs, Overview of Daily Compliance and Operations, and enforcement actions.

Risk Management for Volunteers- Presented by CU/ACE Team - Identify certain credit union risks and discuss the usefulness of insurance as a risk transfer. Describe the elements of internal control. Identify the duties and responsibilities of an effective SCC. Explain when outside assistance is required. Describe the types of annual reports and their importance to the credit union.

What is Interest Rate Risk- instructed by Trey Rudder, VP with Southeast Corporate FCU - This session will provide attendees with a high level overview of Asset Liability Management. With the changing economy, ALM has resurfaced as a top priority for credit unions.

Passion for your Profession- presented by Becky McCrary, CSP - This motivational session will leave you energized, inspired, and ready to take all that you’ve learned back to the credit union for implementation.
