Join your peers from credit unions ($50 million in assets and lower) for an open dialogue session addressing hot topics and issues facing small asset size credit unions today.
Tom Sakash Small Credit Union Advisor at Credit Union National Association and Eric C. Earle Executive Benefits Advisor with CUNA Mutual Retirement Solutions, together will lead the SAS Dialogue.
Tom will provide an overview of current issues facing SAS credit unions today including cyber-security, CECL, marketing challenges, loan promotion strategies and strategic planning.
Eric will provide a deeper dive focusing on investment strategies to offset the rising cost of employee benefit expenses. He will also discuss Charitable Donation Accounts and succession planning.
About the facilitator:
As the Director of Communications for the League of Southeastern Credit Union & Affiliates, Kim Gay is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of information to credit unions, vendors, media, and the public.
Kim is passionate about small asset size credit unions and the issues that they face in today’s ever-changing environment. She has more than fifteen years’ experience in the planning and execution of communication strategies for not-for-profit entities and extensive knowledge of the cooperative business model. Kim is a skilled facilitator with experience leading focus groups, round tables, and panel discussions.
A West Virginia University graduate, Kim holds a Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing and Communications. She is a certified trainer for Bridges Out of Poverty, graduate of Florida Economic Development Academy, Opportunity Tallahassee, and CORE Leadership Academy, as well as recipient of the Gadsden County Chamber of Commerce Volunteer Champion of the Year Award in 2016.
About the speakers:
Eric Earle is an executive benefits advisor for CUNA Mutual Group, a company that specializes in the design, implementation, financing and ongoing administrative support of supplemental executive benefit programs specifically tailored to credit unions. Eric is located in the Madison, Wis. home office of CUNA Mutual Group. He brings to CUNA Mutual Group his experience in the financial services industry since 2005.
Eric joined CUNA Mutual Group in 2008 as a retirement & investment specialist and was promoted in 2010. Prior to joining CUNA Mutual Group, he worked as a financial advisor at AXA Advisors, from 2005-2008. Eric holds a BS in finance and a BA in economics from St. Cloud State University. He is FINRA securities registered and holds Life, Accident and Health Licenses.
Tom Sakash is the Small Credit Union Advisor at Credit Union National Association. As the small credit union program lead at CUNA, Sakash sits at the national cross-section of both the challenges and opportunities facing small credit unions in the United States today.
Combining his passions for small businesses, keeping economies local, and the cooperative spirit, Sakash is working to form connections and build a culture of collaboration among small credit unions across the country.
