Waters announces February hearing schedule

Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) announced her February hearings schedule. As expected, the focus is on affordable housing, marijuana banking, data breaches (from a consumer protection perspective) and diversity. Her schedule includes the following:

Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. – The full Committee will convene a hearing entitled, “The Use of Sanctions and Economic Statecraft in Addressing U.S. National Security and Foreign Policy Challenges.”

Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. – The full Committee will convene a hearing entitled, “Homeless in America: Examining the Crisis and Solutions to End Homelessness.”

Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. – The Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions Subcommittee will convene a hearing entitled, “Challenges and Solutions: Access to Banking Services for Cannabis-Related Businesses.”

Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. – The Housing, Community Development, and Insurance Subcommittee will convene a hearing entitled, “The Affordable Housing Crisis in Rural America: Assessing the Federal Response.”

Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. – The full Committee will convene a hearing entitled, “Who’s Keeping Score? Holding Credit Bureaus Accountable and Repairing a Broken System.”

Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. – The full Committee will convene the semiannual Humphrey-Hawkins hearing entitled, “Monetary Policy and the State of the Economy,” with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.

Feb. 27 at 2 p.m.– The Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee will convene a hearing entitled, “Diversity Trends in the Financial Services Industry.”
