Alabama Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey to speak at LDC GA Luncheon

Join the League's governmental affairs team for the GA Luncheon at this year's Leadership Development Conference (LDC) on Nov. 7 beginning at 12:15 p.m. This year's speaker will be Alabama Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey.

Kay Ivey successfully sought the office of Lieutenant Governor in the 2010 election. In doing so, she became the second woman, and the first Republican woman in Alabama history, to be elected to the post of Lieutenant Governor. A Camden, AL. native and a 1967 graduate of Auburn University, Ivey has had a career in the private sector (as a banker and assistant hospital administrator), as well as a career in public service (as a high school teacher and as Reading Clerk of the Alabama House of Representatives).

The GA Luncheon is an annual event held at the LDC in which all registered attendees are invited to listen to elected or government officials speak on pressing needs and concerns in Alabama or Florida. Past speakers include former Alabama Congressman Jo Bonner and former Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Assistant Director Elizabeth Vale.

The GA Luncheon is free for LDC registered attendees and $50 per guest. Visit the LDC website to register.
