LSCU credit unions on alert for scam

Credit unions in Mississippi have been the subject of scams recently. The perpetrators have used many vehicles to attempt to acquire members' personal information. These include: messages to cellular phones saying that the individual's credit union account was blocked and asking the recipient to call a number where an automated attendant asked for debit card numbers and pins; e-mails and phone calls to cellular and home phones linking to a clone of the subject's credit union's banking page; and bombarding a credit union with over 60,000 e-mails on one day.
