Registration for the 2019 Florida Advocacy Conference is open!
“The state advocacy conference is one of the most important events of the year for Florida credit unions, and one I’m not willing to miss. As leaders in our industry, it is incumbent upon us to show up in Tallahassee and share our story on behalf of the members we serve. Grassroots efforts are the key to our legislative success, and the advocacy conference is a great way spread our message on a larger scale while building lasting relationships with policymakers.”
Brent Lister, CEO, First Florida Credit Union
“Attending the LSCU Forida Advocacy Conference was time well spent. Our lawmakers need to hear our members’ stories and be reminded that the issues impacting credit unions directly affect their constituents. It is really a win-win to be a part of this event and make sure our credit union is engaged in state level advocacy.”
Suzanne Weinstein, CEO, Orlando Federal Credit Union
“Being up close and personal with our state lawmakers was a wonderful experience for Dade County FCU, and CFO Jimmy Patronis personally thanked our team for making the trip to Tallahassee. I have been able to build lasting relationships with our credit union peers throughout the state that attend this event and cannot underscore the importance that our attendance has in shaping lawmakers’ opinions of the Credit Union movement. The advocacy efforts spearheaded by LSCU helps us affect change that benefits all Florida credit unions.”
Al Rose, VP of Lending, Dade County Federal Credit Union
“The State Advocacy Conference is one of the most important events credit union professionals can participate in! Meeting with law makers gives us an opportunity to share the impact our credit unions are making in our community, and we get to learn about upcoming issues that may impact our members. New laws and regulations are going to happen – we have an obligation to be there helping to educate those elected to make decisions that impact our ability to serve our members.”
Mike Akers, VP of Finance and Communications, Tallahassee-Leon Federal Credit Union, and Young Professional
The Florida Advocacy Conference is full of valuable advocacy and regulatory information with opportunities for anyone at your credit union—not just the CEO—interested in learning more about advocacy and building relationships with lawmakers. These connections are essential to the future of the credit union movement. The planned reception with state lawmakers and numerous speakers discussing the current Florida political landscape will allow credit unions to network with Florida’s key policymakers.
