The concept for a chapter-coaching session was developed by management to enhance the skills and leadership abilities of up and coming credit union professionals.  Given the growing desire for leadership training and professional development among credit unions, LSCU & Affiliates sees an opportunity to help equipped current and future leaders with the skills needed to help advance their credit union careers.  The training of this group of employees is designed to ensure the continued success and relevancy of credit unions in the marketplace.

The current structure of the coaching college consists of four, one-day training sessions that take place over the course of a year (one class each quarter). Leadership College 2020 Curriculum will cover four topics including:

  • Leadership Character – Learn the role character plays in leadership success and steps needed to become a leader people follow by choice
  • Leadership Communication – Learn the keys to crafting a compelling message that is both heard and moves people to action; Identify personal triggers and learn how they impact the ability to influence others;  and learn a four-step strategic model for engaging in difficult dialogue
  • Leadership Coaching –  Learn to effectively assess in order to select the right solution; Learn the skills needed to facilitate both formal and informal coaching; Learn to use questioning as a means of uncovering performance barriers; and learn the three elements of a coaching culture and how to imbed them in your team
  • Leadership Execution – Learn the differences between the skills and priorities of an individual contributor versus a leader; Learn the competencies needed to get results through others; Learn a system for setting objectives and tracking results; and learn to leverage data to improve performance

About the facilitator:
