Steve Williams will share his 2021 industry perspectives and a look-ahead to the next decade of financial services. Williams will offer up key strategic imperatives for credit unions navigating the balance between the need to perform today and transform tomorrow. Williams will then engage the group in key expectations and predictions for how future external and competitive trends will unfold. In Part 2 of this session, Williams will share best practices and facilitate discussion on how credit unions are responding to fintech innovation and disruption in the industry and how the member experience is being transformed across delivery channels.

In this session, Steve Williams will facilitate a best practices discussion on revenue growth in a difficult yield curve environment. We will discuss how credit unions are: 1) identifying loan growth opportunities outside of auto, mortgage and credit cards; 2) deepening lending into credit tiers; and 3) creating new partnerships for loan participations and purchases. In addition, Williams will provide an update regarding key pressures on credit union payments revenue (overdraft income and interchange) and how credit unions plan to mitigate declining revenue margins in this area.

Bio
Steve Williams is a Founding Partner and the President of Cornerstone Advisors, a national management and technology consulting firm that services the bank, credit union and fintech markets. Steve has worked with many of the nation’s largest credit unions on strategic planning, performance improvement and technology planning initiatives. Steve formerly worked as a banker with Chase, and a consultant with Arthur Anderson & Co. Steve is a regulator contributor to Gonzobanker, Cornerstone’s industry blog and is an in-demand speaker at bank and credit union events nationwide. He is also an instructor at the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania.

LSCU recommends wearing a face mask in any public space to protect against COVID-19

Safety is of the utmost importance at the CEO Executive Dialogue. To that end, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates and the management of the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples are taking proactive steps to ensure your health and safety and minimize exposure to the COVID-19 virus during this event for all participants. LSCU & Affiliates reserves the right to revise these policies and protocols at any time upon reasonable notice to meeting participants and to prohibit participation by any meeting participants that fail to comply with these policies and procedures.

GENERAL

  • • Counters, laptops, printers, tables, chairs, handrails, doorknobs, bathroom sinks, toilets and other furniture/equipment/areas with high traffic will be wiped down with antiviral and antibacterial agents frequently throughout the day by the hotel throughout the meeting space.
  • • Minimum physical distance policy throughout the meeting area, including common areas, meeting rooms and at social/meal functions.
  • • Signage to encourage pandemic-aware behavior will be posted throughout the hotel and meeting area.

PRIOR TO CONFERENCE

  • • Do not attend if you have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus within 14 days of the event or have been notified that you have been exposed to someone with the COVID-19 virus within 14 days of the event.
  • • Do not travel if you are ill or not feeling well.

REGISTRATION

LSCU & Affiliates staff at the Executive Dialogue Registration Area will be available to answer questions and provide assistance for participants.

MEETING ROOMS

  • • Chairs in meeting rooms will be set to allow for physical distancing.
  • • Hotel staff will wipe down all high-touch/high-traffic areas frequently throughout the day.
  • • Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the property.

FOOD/BEVERAGE

  • • Food service will be either pre-packaged or will have single-use gloves and/or hand sanitizer stations nearby for any items multiple people may touch.
  • • Seating at round tables during meals will be reduced for social distancing.
  • • Handwashing/sanitizing stations will be placed in all rooms where food is served.

HOTEL

  • Marriott International’s Commitment to Clean
  • • Hotel staff has been trained in a variety of safety measures throughout the pandemic including symptom management, proper PPE protocols including removal, hand hygiene best practices and more.
  • • Hand sanitizer is provided at multiple locations in the hotel, including throughout the meeting area.
  • • Property restaurants and retail locations will encourage appropriate social distancing.
  • • The hotel has implemented an aggressive cleaning/disinfecting schedule for all public and "high touch" areas as well as guest rooms.

  • • Should you become ill during the event, please immediately advise LSCU staff at 850-321-2865, and self-isolate.
  • • Rapid tests will be available onsite should you begin experiencing symptoms.
  • • Contact a local testing center, urgent care center or emergency room for instructions.
  • • Please practice good hygiene by washing your hands frequently or using sanitizing stations which will be located throughout the hotel and meeting space. We will continue to work with the hotel and local jurisdictions and make modifications to ensure the health and well-being of all attendees.
