Laura Lee Vann

Laura Vann
Senior Director, Shared Branching
Shared Cooperative Services

Laura Vann has more than 30 years experience working with not-for-profit organizations in member relations, business development, communications, training, and fund-raising positions. Currently, Laura serves as Senior Director, Shared Branching at Shared Cooperative Services. In this role, she facilitates cooperation among Alabama and Georgia credit unions in the development and operation of the shared branching network; develops and executes strategies to increase the number of credit union members with access to shared branching; and conducts training on shared branching rules and regulations.

Laura joined the League staff in 2001 and previously focused on increasing the value League membership, helping credit unions develop growth strategies, building a stronger chapter system, and developing financial education initiatives. During her career, she has facilitated over 180 strategic planning sessions for credit unions with assets ranging from $2 billion to $1 million.

She graduated from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, with a major in English and a minor in Communications. Laura completed the National Credit Union Foundation’s Credit Union Development Educator program in 2012.

Jordan Burroughs CUDE, CUCE, BSACS, CCUFC

Jordan Burroughs
Vice President of Member Engagement, LSCU

Jordan Burroughs is the Vice President of Member Engagement for the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates, based in the Tallahassee office. In this role, Jordan oversees all aspects of the member experience for credit unions including affiliation, chapters, the Young Professionals Group, an international partnership with the Credit Union League of Great Britain, and the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation.

When Jordan is not advocating for credit unions, she enjoys cheering for the Michigan State Spartans, perfecting her sourdough bread recipe (a skill she picked up during quarantine) and hanging with her quirky rescue dog, a 10 year old corgi-mix.

Marcus King, CPA, MBA, BSACS

Marcus King graduated from Freed-Hardeman University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 2013. He most recently graduated with his Master’s of Business Administration in 2019. Marcus obtained his CPA license in 2020. He is certified as a Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist. Marcus joined CUACG in January 2014 and has worked his way up to Vice President in January 2020. Marcus oversees the operations of the CUACG staff and approves all audit reports produced.

Fred Palmer

Fred Palmer
Executive Benefits Specialist, America's Credit Unions Mutual Group

Fred is an executive benefits specialist for America's Credit Unions Mutual Group, a company that specializes in the design, implementation, financing and ongoing administrative support of supplemental executive benefit programs specifically tailored to credit unions. Fred works with credit unions in the East and Central Regions. He brings to America's Credit Unions Mutual Group his experience in the financial services industry since 1981.

Prior to joining America's Credit Unions Mutual Group, Palmer consulted with credit unions and banks for 12 years as a senior consultant and regional vice president for two major executive benefit firms. He also has 18 years senior management banking experience with expertise in trust, investments, corporate lending and private banking.

Fred holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Florida State University. He is FINRA securities registered and holds life, health and variable annuity licenses.

Diane Reed

Nationally recognized speaker, writer and communications professional, Diane Reed, currently serves as President of CUDoctor, a full-service credit union consultancy, assisting financial institutions nationwide with human resource, marketing, strategic planning, community relations, compliance, sales, training, board relations and governance, and executive support. Prior to joining CUDoctor, Diane served for more than a decade as Vice President of Administration for a mid-sized financial institution. Her expertise in “Service-Oriented Culture Change” has been cited in numerous industry publications. And, her marketing expertise has been featured in articles for “Exhibit Builder” and “Business Management” magazines. In 2015, she spearheaded the development of America's Credit Unions’s HR Compliance Certification School in conjunction with America's Credit Unions, a program which continues to deliver quality HR compliance training to professionals nationwide. She attended The American University and graduated from George Mason University where she specialized in Organizational Communication. Diane currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia with her husband David, a financial services guru in his own right.

David Reed, Esquire

Attorney, author, consultant and nationally recognized speaker, David A. Reed is a partner in the law firm of Reed and Jolly, PLLC and founder of CUDoctor, a full-service credit union consulting practice. Through Reed & Jolly, Mr. Reed provides guidance to credit unions concerning a variety of matters including the establishment and revision of credit union policies and procedures, organizational compliance, collections, security, contractual agreements, regulatory matters and corporate governance. He offers facilitation services and a full range of on-site training programs that can be delivered to the Board, executive team, managers or frontline staff.

A former trial attorney and Vice President and General Counsel of a large credit union, Mr. Reed is particularly noted as an expert in the areas of credit union operations, bankruptcy and collections. He has been selected to train NCUA Field Examination and Audit Staff on numerous issues including ID Theft Red Flags, S.A.F.E. Act, Third Party Contract Management and Bankruptcy matters.

Mr. Reed received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in 1986 and his Juris Doctorate from George Mason University School of Law in 1989. He is a Certified Compliance Officer. He resides in Fairfax, Virginia with his wife Diane and their twin daughters.
