Job Description:

• Directly and through subordinates, oversee and manage the financial and accounting functions of the credit union to include: ALM, AP, AR, ALCO, budgets, collections, GL, financial analysis, financial reporting and record keeping, investments, payroll and taxes
• Responsible for ensuring the efficient operations of the accounting department functions
• Prepare financial and tax reports as prescribed by the CEO and in accordance with lawful regulatory requirements (periodic tax reports, call reports, quarterly reports, etc.)
• Present monthly reports to the Board of Directors and Senior Management
• Maintain cash-flow analysis through daily balance preparation
• Maintain furniture and equipment subsidiary files and reports
• Prepare analysis of financial reports (graphs, trends, budgetary variances, etc.)
• Maintain investment files and financial accruals
• Responsible for ensuring completion of website updates and maintenance of e-mail system
• Responsible for disseminating and communicating all relevant information to accounting personnel
• Responsible for contract filing system renewal and kick-out dates
• Assist in analysis of new branch site locations and closings of existing branches
• Assist in lease negotiation and major purchasing decisions for capital equipment or other capital asset expenditures
• Responsible to comply with laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act
• Performs other duties as necessary

Education/Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s or advance degree in business, finance or related field (each year of experience may substitute for each year of the required education)
• Extensive accounting and/or auditing experience preferably within credit union operations

• Ability to perform financial analysis using company accounting data
• Advance Excel experience a MUST
• Professional mannerisms and appearance
• Must be extremely organized and very detailed oriented
• Must have aptitude for technical concepts and skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with deadlines, demonstrated sense of urgency for reaching completion and producing results
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to learn regulations affecting credit unions.
• Ability to understand the credit union history and philosophy, the by-laws, the organizational system, and operational procedures
