Job Description:

Chief Executive Officer
Located in Montomery, Alabama, ASE Credit Union with over $280 million in assets is in search of a proven leader to serve as its Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will direct the overall operations of the credit union with the objective of ensuring financial stability, commensurate with the best interest of the member, in compliance with the policies set by the Board of Directors and rules and regulations of local, state, and federal regulatory agencies; establish short term and long-term objectives, plans and policies subject to the approval of the Board of Directors; and representing the credit union within the community.

Principle Responsibilities:
Develops or ensures the development of basic objectives, policies, operating plans, and capital expenditures budgets of ASE and submit them for review and approval by the Board of Directors.
Ensures that adequate plans for future development and growth of ASE are prepared; periodically reviews and presents such plans for general review and approval by the Board of Directors.
Analyzes policies, procedures, and operating results of ASE relative to established objectives and ensures that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
Represents ASE as appropriate in its relationship with members, sponsor organizations, suppliers, competitors, government agencies, other financial institutions, professional societies, the public and similar groups.
Informs the Board of personnel, legal, regulatory, or other issues that may have a significant impact on ASE.
Prescribes the specific limitations of the authority of subordinates regarding policies, contractual commitments, expenditures, and personnel actions.
Reviews and approves the appointment, employment, transfer, and termination of employees.
Resolves any conflicts arising between operating groups, staff units, and other elements.
Ensures that ASE’s policies are uniformly understood, properly interpreted, and properly administered by subordinates.
Other duties as assigned by the board.

Required Experience:
At least ten years of recent experience, showing progressive roles of leadership in a similar type of financial institution, with at least five years in a senior management role.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required with emphasis in finance and accounting. CPA and/or master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.

Required Skills:
Must possess strong analytical, financial, and portfolio management skills. Must possess strong human relations, motivational, and organizational skills. Must possess strong communication skills. Must have knowledge of Information Technology as it relates to financial institutions.
