Awards Programs

LSCU’s credit unions and their leadership do great things. In order to celebrate their good work, both CUNA and the LSCU have designed a variety of national and state recognition awards. For more information, click the links below.

LSCU Awards

Following the philosophy of "people helping people," credit unions continue to make a difference for their members and the communities they serve. While focusing on membership needs, credit unions work for the ongoing development of communities through policies developed and accepted by the members.

The LSCU is proud to recognize professionals, volunteers, and credit unions that have made outstanding contributions to the development and growth of the credit union movement.

Nominations for the LSCU Awards may be made by chapters, individuals, volunteers, and credit unions.

LSCU Awards categories are:

Professional of the Year
Volunteer of the Year
Young Professional of the Year
Distinguished Service Award
Credit Union of the Year: up to $100 million in assets
Credit Union of the Year: $100-$500 million in assets
Credit Union of the Year: $500 million or more

Submit Your Nominations for the 2023 CUNA Awards!

The nomination portals for the 2023 CUNA Awards have now opened! The heart of the credit union movement means incredible people doing remarkable things. The CUNA Awards program not only offers recognition for those achievements but honors credit unions' desire to make things better for all of us.

Named in honor of our pioneers, these awards represent the spirit of what credit unions are all about. Read about each individual award and founder below:

Dora Maxwell "Social Responsibility Award" - Recognizes extraordinary acts of community outreach.
Louise Herring "Philosophy in Action Award" - Recognizes commitment to exceptional member experience.
Desjardins "Adult and Youth Financial Education Award" - Recognizes leadership in financial education geared toward both adults and youth.

How to submit your nominations:

To streamline the submission process for our member credit unions and to reduce financial and human resources spent on the submission process, CUNA and the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates collaborated to produce one standardized format and online submission process.

There are submission web portals for Alabama credit unions, Florida credit unions, and Georgia credit unions. To submit, you will be asked for your CUNA website access username and password. If you do not already have one, you will automatically establish an account when you create an application to submit.
